About Me
I’m Hugh Fletcher, a freelance web programmer living and working in Newbern, Tennessee, who specializes in web design, web development, and Internet marketing.
Originally from Shreveport, LA (no Cajun references, please), my family moved to Dyersburg, TN, where I finished school and began working as a manager for a major retailer. Soon after, I realized I liked this new thing called the Internet and wanted to be part of it.
Beginning to read and play with anything related to web programming, I grew a (concerning) fondness of PHP and the many content systems and frameworks built on it, such as CodeIgniter and the content management system ExpressionEngine. Since then, my appetite has grown for other web scripting languages as well, and I also have a sound knowledge base in XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, JQuery, Javascript, and Scriptaculous.
Being a self-proclaimed computer geek, I have additional experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, particularly in web server environments utilizing IIS and Apache. I also strongly believe in XHTML standards, accessibility, and browser compliance.
In time, I began creating websites and conceptual web applications for people/companies, focusing on not just providing them an aesthetic website presence, but what value the site could provide for them in ways such as marketing, online customer service, and integration with existing systems.
I am available for work on all types of web projects and am interested in doing work for organizations as well as individuals. Feel free to contact me to discuss any potential project.
